Solution: 

Open Registry editor.

  1. Change the value of H Key classes root \ Word.document.12\ shell \ open \command \ on the right panel - right click and modify the value to 
                 "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\Root\Office15\WINWORD.EXE" /n "%1"

  1. Change the value of H Key classes root \ Word.document.12\ shell \ open\ ddexec \ application\ on the right panel - right click and modify the value to  winword.
