Cause:

One of the most possible cause for this issue could be .ost file update.
If you are using IMAP account some time the old ost file gets corrupted and needs to replace with the new one to sync with web mail server.

Solution:

1) Open your outlook program and take the backup for necessary data.(Email, contacts,Calender etc)
2) Search for all .ost files in the computer.
3) Delete the .ost file from everywhere.
4) Click on Send/Receive icon on the top to sync all the emails in a new .ost file.
5) Wait for the sync because it will take some to update the folder.
