Laptop not picking up any wireless networks

Problem

The laptop can’t connect to wireless networks and does not display any other networks.
Cause

The wireless network card has not been enabled.
Solution

Hold the FN key down (which is located in the bottom left of the keyboard) and press F8.

Hold the FN key down and press F11 or F10.
